High Pressure Dome, i.e., heat wave.

The drive north from Thermopolis, Wyoming to Joliet, Montana as “homely,” according to Larry.

Checking the maps, I saw something of interest.  Adjacent to the rest-stop north of Greybull, WY was an aircraft graveyard.  Pulling into a zero shade parking lot with the U.S. and Wyoming state flags cardboard straight in the hot, stiff breeze, we noted the outside temperature…110 ° Fahrenheit.  Nope.  Even for aviation junkies, not a good day to look at airplanes.

Mydland Angus Ranch (pasture land) was our destination.  We arrived at 3 p.m. and it was still 110 °.

So far it’s been two hours of slow roasting sitting in the shade of an ancient cottonwood, while we wait for the setting sun.
