Bye Bye New York

New Yorkers are their own special breed, direct, fast paced, and highly impatient; needed to live in a big city.

Sarah was worried I didn’t have street smarts.  In fact, she surprised me on arrival in a bagel shop, technically proving her point.

I’ve never lost it, ‘technically,’ just forgot to turn the on-switch.

I made eye contact, smiled, and often had a nice word with strangers.  I lost count how many smiles I got back.

And there’s the old lady factor.  Quite often a stranger offered their seat on the subway.  Never the tourists, only the locals.

My New Yorkers were witty, observant, and caring.

Transporting my new paintings and frame hardware.

La Guardia has an outdoor seating area.

My adult children and I almost always share snapshots once we’re seated.

The infamous Newark

Almost home.
